After organizing the Houston Unity Group almost 2 years ago, I thought it might be time to share some of the Unity 3D goodness with the rest of Texas. Unity is the fastest growing game engine out there. And not only is it being used for game development, there are several examples of applications in advertising, medical, energy, architecture and education. We are a group passionate about the usage of Unity and we welcome new developers and artists as much as we do seasoned industry veterans.

Games for mobile devices, the web, and other new platforms are a growing part of the industry. They feature smaller teams, faster dev cycles, iterative design, and innovative business models. This approach is more conducive to experimentation than most AAA projects. Yet, Austin seems to be lagging behind other cities in embracing this trend.
